South Sudan is Africa’s latest independent republic when it got it was declared republic on 9th July, 2011.  The country offers a wide range of opportunities for business.   South Sudan is a member of a number of regional trade partnerships like the African Union, COMESA and East African Community. It is also a member of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.

Capital city

Capital of South Sudan is in Juba however this is likely to move to Ramciel in the future.

Attractions

Bandingilo National Park that has the second largest wild life migration in te world is in South Sudan.  Other National parks  include Boma and Southern and Sudd.  Wild animals that can be seen in this parks include the white kob that is endemic to the region, hartebeest, eland, oryx, topi,  chimpanzees, elephants, lions,  giraffes, hogs and monkeys. The habitat in the region vary from savannah grassland.

The People
The people of South Sudan speak over 60 different languages though because of the drawing up of borders by colonialists there may be more speakers of a language in a neighboring country than in Sudan itself.  This is true for Zande and Banda languages that are spoken more in DRC and Central African republic respectively.The Dinka make the highest number of people followed by the Bari and Azande.  Other groups include the Shilluk and Nuer.  Traditional African religion has 51% followers followed by christianity with 37% and muslim with 10%.

Investment Opportunities

Opportuntities for investment are in most sectors.  There is great opportuntity in sports, oil, education, health, infrastructure development, timber and agriculture.
