The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

If you are an animal lover the Sheldrick's WIldlife trust, an orphanage for baby elephants rescued from poachers is a must! The Sheldricks Wildlife trust has hand reared over 70 elephants rescued form the Tsavo, and over 17 black Rhinos. It was started in 1977 in honour of David Leslie William Sheldrick MBE the founder warden of Tsavo East National Park. I especially like the Sheldricks because of the close proximity one has with the baby elephants and the amount of learning both children and grown ups get when they visit the trust. The attachment established during the brief visit with the elephants is extended when one adopts the elephants.
